"You seem pretty mentally sound to me. I don't see why they thought you needed to change." He grinned and added, "Then again, I've spent the past two years in the company of some pretty insane people. So maybe sanity seems insane to me now."

Edward laughed and smiled back. "It wasn't really that I needed to change, more that I needed to cope," he said. "Apparently they didn't think I was up to dealing with being made fun of on a daily basis... But, personally, I think my therapists were the insane ones... Rambling about trying to blend in and prove them wrong to end the bullying. Aren't they supposed to tell you that it's okay to be different?"

Chaosti nods and says, "It's a good thing you're here then, because that's what this school is all about. Embracing your differences and learning how to turn them into strengths." He pauses upon reaching a set of double doors and says, "Here we are." He glances around to check for teachers, then pulls his wand from his back pocket. He mutters three different unlocking charms, and when he tries the doorknob it opens easily. He grins, gesturing inside grandly, and says, "They make a fatal mistake in assuming the only spell everyone knows is alohamora."

Edward watched Chaosti unlock the door in awe. "That's awesome," he said. "Does stuff like that happen around here a lot? Are there other spells that are useful like that? Are you allowed to do that outside of class?" He kept spouting out questions, not really paying attention to the other things Chaosti had said in response to the therapy comments.

Chaosti laughed and said, "Oh, yeah. You'll learn tons of these in Charms and Transfiguration. Some that are very useful, and some that make you wonder why on earth you would ever need to use them." He walked into the pool area, shutting the door behind them so it would appear undisturbed, but leaving the door unlocked. The pool was empty, so they got the pick of the chairs. Chaosti tossed a towel each onto two chairs, and looked out at the pool. "God, that water looks good after sitting in the blazing sun."

"Wow, this pool is awesome," Edward said. He walked around the area, looking at everything. "And here I thought this place would be horrible. Like the therapists..." He looked at Chaosti and smiled. "It's turning out to be a lot better than I expected."

Chaosti smiled back and said, "Yeah, it's a pretty great place. For most of us, it's even better than home." The water looked too inviting to resist much longer, so Chaosti stepped out of his flip-flops and took off his shirt, tossing it onto his chair. Taking a running start, he jumped and dove into the pool. When he surfaced, he swiped his hair out of his eyes, whooped, and said with a grin, "The water's great! You coming?"

Edward watched Chaosti go in the water and swore it happened in slow motion, like on Baywatch when they showed the girls running. When he surfaced, Edward watched the water slide down Chaosti's body. He barely heard the question, but gulped hard and nodded. "Yeah, definitely." He pulled off his shirt and dove in, thankful for the coolness keeping his body in check.

Something happened when Edward took off his shirt. Chaosti's world narrowed to Edward and his eyes appeared to be stuck - he couldn't look away. Professional interest, of course, as he'd been having such a hard- a difficult time drawing the male form. He blinked hard, and by the time his eyes opened Edward had moved out of his field of vision and was diving into the water. When he surfaced, water plastering his hair to his head and beading on his skin, Chaosti experienced a sudden feeling of vertigo, and had to clutch the concrete side of the pool tightly with one had to reassure himself that the world was not moving.

Edward made sure to not look at Chaosti and let himself try to adjust to the fact that he was, in fact, in a pool with another half-naked guy. When he finally looked at said half-naked guy, he saw him clutching the side of the pool. Edward swam over closer to him, looking concerned. "Hey, you okay? Did you hit your head or something?" He hoped that it was the mirror of his own reaction to Chaosti taking off his shirt, but he highly doubted it. Not after a year and a half long relationship with a pretty girl...

Chaosti shook his head, waved his free hand vaguely, and said, "No, I'm fine, I just.." He met Edward's eyes, and the dizziness got worse. He felt as though he was being sucked- drawn in. "Suddenly felt.. dizzy." He shook his head again, forced an awkward smile, and said, "Must have just been the plunge into the pool, the sudden change in temperature."

Edward nodded slowly, but still looked concerned. "I suppose the temperature change could do that," he said. "Normally I'd attribute it to something else, but let's go with that," he added quietly to himself. Then he smiled and looked up. "So, if you're sure you're fine..." He swam back toward the center of the pool and just floated there. "You know, this is nice. It's quiet with no one else here."

The dizziness got better as Edward moved further away, but it left behind another strange feeling. It was almost like.. regret? Chaosti snorted to himself, pushing off the wall to drift on his back further out into the pool. Why would he regret not being dizzy? The human mind could be so weird. "Yeah, it's quite peaceful without a crowd here. Kind of like the Amiraen Forest - which we're technically forbidden to go into beyond a certain point, but that's another thing not many people pay heed to. I will admit the forest can be dangerous, but as long as you keep your guard up and are careful not to get lost.. And having some form of defensive magic helps too. Anyway, my point was that the forest can be peaceful like this too."

Edward kept an eye on Chasoti when he moved away from the wall. He had to be sure he was careful and not still too dizzy to be swimming around. "I'll have to make a point to check it out then," he said. "But I think I'll go during the day the first time. Just to make sure it will be easier to defend myself if I need it." He smiled again. He liked hearing Chaosti's opinion on everything.

"As long as you go with a guide, someone who knows the forest, you should be fine, day or night." He shifted his gaze from the ceiling tiles over to Edward and said with a grin, "You can come with me sometime if you want. Most things that lurk in the forest smell a dragon and tend to stay away."

"That sounds like a really good idea," Edward said, trying to contain his enthusiasm. "I mean, as long as your friends don't mind. It's kinda like I'm hogging you, what with all the art, the swimming, now the forest? I just don't want to ruin anything." Not ruin so much as peacefully put an end to..

Chaosti shook his head and said, "Nah, they won't mind. They see me all the time. Quite frankly, they're probably glad to have a break from me." He chuckled a little bit at that, then said musingly, "Though I do need to find out where Elena's been hiding herself. She's been pretty scarce lately. Usually by now she's come up with some crazy idea or other involving other countries and 'vacations'." He made quotes with his fingers at that last word. "I worry sometimes she may inadvertently cause the next world war."

Edward laughed. "She sounds like one of my old friends. I look forward to meeting her when you finally find her again," he said. "But I doubt that they'd want a break from you. If they're your friends, shouldn't they like spending time with you?"

Chaosti laughed and said, "I've been told I can be insufferable and overprotective."
[Hmm.. Think we're ready to end this scene and skip ahead like two weeks to the forest scene? Is there anything else you wanted to put in this scene?]
