Julianna walked into the library and immediately headed for the back of the library. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun and she wore a sapphire blue halter top, a short black skirt, and black sandals in celebration of getting her scars removed. Instead of unsightly tangles of marred flesh, there were only very faint markings that were just a couple of shades lighter than her normal skin tone. The healers had told her this would fade in a matter of days, and had received a stony glare when they inquired as to how she'd gotten the scars on her neck, collarbone, and arms in the first place. In the outfit she wore, it was plain how unhealthily skinny Julianna had become over the past months, but she didn't care. She was just glad the scars were gone. Locating an empty table in a back corner of the library, Julianna set her school bag down in one of the chairs, claiming it, and began to browse the nearby books.

Frost swings around a sharp corner after finding the book he had been waiting for, for about 2 weeks. In his rush, he ran into Julianna. He just stares at her with a sunken and ashen grey face, clearly a sign that he hadn't fed for quite some time.

Julianna caught herself with one hand on a bookshelf, regaining her balance quickly. She whipped her head up to snarl at whoever had run into her, but stopped short when she saw it was Frost. Concern flashed through her eyes for a moment before she said flatly, "You look like shit. Why haven't you been feeding?"

He looked into Julianna's eyes and rasied a hand to brush her cheek with a whole hell of a lot of emotion passing through his eyes, but then he looked away from her and moved to walk past her, not wanting to hear her cruel words of distaste towards him. He was trying to let go of her but for some reason fate wasn't going to allow that.

As he moved past her, Julianna reached out and grabbed his wrist in a vice-like grip. She may have gotten skinnier, but she had also gotten stronger. Her beast seemed to be always hovering just below the surface now, prickling along her skin at the slightest provocation. "Hey! What the hell are you trying to do, wait until you can't control it any more and end up killing someone?"

He turned to her with ice cold eyes and said, "I have killed since you've been gone. Whatever humanity.... whatever pathetic sympathies I had before.... you took them with you when you left. I have no compassion left, you ripped every sweetness I had ever learned to love out of my heart and left it in a shallow grave." A bloodstained tear fell down his face and he said to her, "I hope your satisfied through your selfish needs and wants. I'm done with you humans and the like." He wrenched away from her and walked through the corridor doors leading outside into the cold, harsh night.

Julianna followed Frost stubbornly out of the library, teeth bared in a snarl as she says, "Now you're just being melodramatic and irresponsible! What could my leaving possibly have to do with you deciding to kill random people? What did they ever do to you?"

Frost kept walking and muttered, "You wouldn't understand it if I tried to explain it to you. It's called, Destructive Depression." He kept on walking not wanting to have anything to do with her yet wanting to have anything to do with her.

"So let me get this straight. Your being depressed gave you the right to kill people at random. Yeah, that's logical," Julianna said sarcastically, keeping pace just a couple of steps behind him.

He turned so abruptly, and with her following so closely behind him, he ran into her and caught her by her arms so she wouldn't fall. He let go of her and said, "So what are you, my mother?" He turned to face the other way so that he wouldn't have to look at her. He finally gave up on it and asked, "What were you doing? Where did you go? I thought you loved me! Why would you leave me like that if you truly loved me! I can't help but to obsess over what was so important to you that you would just up and leave..... without even saying goodbye. What was more important to you that you would hurt me so badly, make me worry so much!?" He turned around and wrapped his arms around her tightly, breathing in her sweet scent and whispering, "I thought you were dead..."

Julianna couldn't suppress a shiver that ran through her body at being so close to him. When she spoke, her voice came out in a husky whisper. "I was.." She cleared her throat, forcing her voice to its usual tone, a layer of ice in it. "I was doing things for the good of the pride. Weren't you the one who told me I should step up to my responsibilities with them in the first place?"

He released her and said, "That was cold." He turned to walk away from her and saw someone walking in their direction.

"It's the truth," Julianna pointed out. Then she spotted the person approaching them and alarm flashed across her face before she schooled her expression to a mask of cold disinterest. She hurried to intercept the person before they could get too near to Frost. "What the hell are you doing here?" She demanded with a low growl. The man flashed fangs in a grin as he said, "The Master sent me, of course."

Frost looked at the person and thought it might give him a clue as to what she had been up to for the past months. He cloaked himself in shadow and moved closer to them so he could hear their conversation. His nostrils flared as he smelled vampire. He listened on to their conversation.

Julianna clenched her jaw, resisting the urge to lash out at the new vampire, and glanced over her shoulder to check where Frost was. She was puzzled to find he'd vanished, and assumed he'd gone off in a huff again. Steeling herself for whatever was to come, she turned back to the other vampire. "Get it over with, Marcus. What does he want?" Marcus laughed, a harsh, wheezing sound. "Just to send a token of his affection." He pulled a small box from the inside of his jacket and presented it to her. It was a light blue box with a matching silk ribbon tied around it, the sort of which jewelry might be gifted in.

Frost saw the box and didn't like the look on the vampires face. He moved a little closer to them, keeping far enough away so that Julianna wouldn't catch his scent on the wind.

Julianna stared Marcus down for a long moment, eyes cold and flat as she studied his expression in silence. Marcus started to fidget uneasily when Julianna finally reached out and took the box. As she drew it closer to her, her nostils flared - she'd caught a scent from the box. Her breath caught in her throat and she tore the ribbon off of it with haste, then paused just before opening it. She swallowed hard, strapping a bit of mental steel to her spine, and lifted the lid slowly.
In the next moment, everything seemed to happen in a blur. The lid of the box snapped back shut, then the box clattered to the floor. Julianna had Marcus slammed against the stone wall a good foot off the ground, and she had shifted partway without even seeming to think about it. Claws pricked his throat where she held him up with one hand, and the claws of her other hand hovered dangerously close to his eyes. Her eyes had gone feline, and when she spoke her canines had visibly lengthened. "He gave me his WORD!" She screamed, a raw, animal sound that scraped in her throat with its intensity.

Frost moved in a blur to pick up the box and peer inside, the finger in the box smelled of a girl who was once here. He couldn't recall her name, but there was one scent he could pick out..... Asher. Vampire of the City of Paris. One of his old rivals. He hurt Julianna, and somehow he would be able to give him the answers that he was looking for. He moved in a blur to Julianna, giving her a quick kiss on the back of the neck and whispering, "I love you," not really thinking she would hear it right now in such a rage. He left, heading off to Paris, to find out what this was all about, since Julianna wouldn't have told him anything anyways.

"He didn't kill her," Marcus rasped hurriedly before he ran out of air. "He wanted to send you a reminder, incentive for you to finish the job. He said you've delayed long enough, and next time it might be a bigger box."
A gust of wind, a brief touch, and a whisper she barely believed she'd heard.. Julianna whipped her head around, one hand casually crushing Marcus's windpipe as she yelled, panic stark in her eyes, "Frost, NO! Get back here right now!"

Although, when she had turned to say that to him, he was already on his way to the train station to get on a plane to paris. He heard her cry before he left but wanted nothing from it, for the fact that she was hiding something and wanted truth and answers.
