Toting an old-fashioned, boxy traveling case, a girl wound her way up the path to ADSGMP, passing through its gardens on her way. When she was close to the entrance, she set her case down and looked up at the huge building with a cheerful grin and a satisfied sigh. "How quaint!" She said to herself, admiring the castle-like structure. Her smile slipped a few notches, though, as she muttered, "They'd better have wi-fi.."
[And a picture of her upon arrival is available on my charrie profile page!]

Erika made her way down toward the forest. She kept looking back to make sure none of the teachers were following her. She had recently gotten a bit tired of the strict lesson schedule. She loved the environment of the school and she was trying as hard as she could to learn everything they taught her, but the work was tough. As she entered the garden, she looked behind her again, only to bump into someone and trip. "Oh, I'm sorry," Erika said. "I didn't expect anyone to be out of class except me...." She straightened out her short dress and stood back up.

"Oh!" Carrie exclaimed in surprise, stumbling a bit in her heels and catching herself on her bag. Straightening up she smoothed her dress, checking rapidly for damage, and finding none smiled in understanding at Erika. "Don't worry about it. Are classes going on now, then? I just got here, so I've no idea."

"Yeah, there are lessons going on right now," Erika said. "But don't worry about it. Apparently people only show up like half the time." She quickly made sure that her dress was in order and made a mental note to get more modest clothes. "I'm Erika by the way. You'll probably be able to find me out here half the time," she said, making a sweeping gesture to the grounds. "It's way nicer out here."

"It does look very lovely," Carrie said, turning in a small circle as she looked at the surrounding garden. Facing Erika again she held out her hand and said, "I'm Carrie Bradshaw. Nice to meet you."

"Erika Bishop," she said, taking Alice's hand. "Nice to meet you. So, what's your mage?" ((Yeah, so original, I know...))

"Some sort of fire thing. It tends to happen around me," Carrie said with a shrug, looking a bit bemused about it all. "What about you?"

Erika shrugged. "It's kinda hard to explain... It's almost like i carry around an invisible suitcase around with me constantly and I can take stuff out of in and put stuff in. Did that make any sense at all?" She sighed. "Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining anything."

"Sort of," Carrie said with a grin. "Speaking of suitcases.." She glanced down at her suitcase and nudged it with her foot, then looked back up at Erika. "Any idea where I can put this? I'm in the Earth house."

"That's a good question," Erika said. "I think the Earth house is somewhere near the Air dorms, but I have no idea, honestly. I'm in Fire, so I never spend much time up there." She summons a map and looks at it. "These things are useless if they don't show where any damn thing is..." she muttered.

Carrie raised her eyebrows at the sudden appearance of the map and said, "Whoa - that invisible suitcase of yours sure is handy. But how many colors does it come in?" She flashed a grin then shifted closer and craned her neck to inspect the map with Erika. After a long moment, she points at something on the map and says, "Oh, that looks like the Air dorms. Funny names for houses, huh?"

Erika smiled. "Unfortunately it only comes in one color: clear. But it is the most useful thing I have." She stares at the map some more, looking specifically at where Alice was pointing. "Yeah, I think that is Air... Earth must be somewhere around there. And the house names don't seem too bad to me, but I've had enough time to adapt."

"But then the whole concept of houses is pretty new to me, so I'm no expert," Carrie said with a shrug. She then continued to search the map around the vicinity of the Air dorms, humming a little cheerful tune to herself. Then suddenly she exclaimed, "Ooo, ooo, I think that's it!" and tapped a spot on the map several times.

Erika squinted at the spot to see it better. "You know, I think you're right. I still don't get why they put houses so close together... They trust us way too much in that respect," she muttered. "For god's sake, we're teenagers."

Carrie grins and says, "So I take it there's late-night parties? Fantastic! I was so worried this would turn out to be a stuffy boarding school with - my worst nightmare - uniforms."

"Oh god no," Erika said. She indicated her outfit. "If there were uniforms, do you think I'd get away with this?" She laughed. "But yeah, you can probably find a new party every day if you try. I've been avoiding them."

Carrie laughed and said, "Well, not every day necessarily. Maybe every other day. And I do love that skirt, by the way!" She curtsied to show her outfit and added, "I thought this looked quite worldly-20's-train-traveler. A plane flight, three trains, and a carriage - a carriage! - to get here, can you believe it?"

"You got a plane? God, I had a boat... in the cargo section," Erika said, jealous. "And a bus... A few parts on foot..." She shrugged. "I was low on money. It's kinda hard to get from France to the UK with barely anything. All my savings were here. But that's not the point. No one here cares that much about fashion. I mean, there's a few, but not enough."

"Oh, I've always wanted to see Paris! Mom's never taken me on one of her business trips." Carrie gasped and made a horrified face at Erika's comment about people here not caring about fashion. "Please tell me they at least have a dry cleaner's here." Her eyes widened as she made another terrible thought. "They get Vogue here right? What about Cosmo?"

Erika smiled in sympathy. "Sorry, you're kinda outta luck there. I think the only thing close to that is.. well, nothing, sorry. I might be able to pull a few strings and get some for you." She summons her address book, replacing the map. She flips through. "Yeah, I might have a few connections."
